Secession Fever Rises In Wake of Obama’s Victory

After Obama’s 2012 reelection, a secessionist movement gathered steam in the United States. In a fit of emotions, the White House received petitions from all fifty states. Texas is forever associated with secession. The Texas Revolution raged for six months and at its end, Texas emerged a legend.  From 1836 to 1845, the Texas Republic stood independent.  Texas maintained diplomatic relations with England, France and Belgium.  Yet from the beginning Sam Houston sought American statehood.  Houston faced stiff opposition but destiny tied Texas to the United States.

Along with Mexicans, Americans and European immigrants settled Texas.  The Mexican government initially encouraged white settlement. Most homes revered George Washington and the Bill of Rights. The Protestant God supplanted Mary and Jesus. Common bonds demanded statehood. Texas also suffered crushing debt – over $12 Million in post-revolutionary debt plagued Austin.  Blessed by geography, Texas had something to offer. In theory, its territory stretched to Wyoming. Annexing Texas meant filling a giant hole to the Pacific Ocean.

Not everyone in Washington desired Texas statehood. Texas was a slave nation….an ugly reminder of Northern and Southern differences. Across the Atlantic, England saw Texas as a source of cotton.  They traded goods and Texas offered safe harbors for English ships.  An Anglo-Texan relationship startled Washington.  In a giant slap to Mexico, Texas became the 28th state on December 29, 1845.

The Mexican-American War erupted almost immediately. From 1846 to 1848, Washington and Mexico City battled in the desert. The war proved fatal to Mexican interests. With West Point training, American forces swooped in and seized California. The New Mexico Territory soon followed. The army captured Guadalajara and finally Mexico City. Mexico’s claims north of the Rio Grande evaporated.

The Compromise of 1850 established Texas’ current-day borders.  Sadly Texas settled into statehood just as the Union crumbled. The Civil War erupted in 1861. As a slave state, Texas joined the Confederacy. The war’s savagery bled the nation for four years. The South suffered famine and total destruction. Texas again found itself at a crossroads. Readmitted to the Union and subject to Reconstruction, Texas utilized its vast resources and blossomed.  Today Texas is the world’s 15th largest economy.

Modern secession follies

Ron Paul recently championed the prospect of dissolving the Union.  He called secession “deeply American.”  It’s not deeply American.  We were never equal to our British masters.  We were servants to the crown.  Paul’s an old man now and has plenty of money. He can spew dangerous ideas to captive audiences. Paul is well-aware that Washington would never let Texas go. It would mean war of some sort….first politically and then violence would ensue. Civil Wars begin and end ugly. It’s brother against brother. Nothing burns hotter than family hatred. We’d tear each other apart. It’s happened before.

Like Ivy League Marxism, secession looks good on paper. But this nation doesn’t break apart peacefully. At America’s founding, the thirteen colonies united under one banner.  New states expanded the Union and spread American exceptionalism.  After admittance, the flags add a star and the geography books are revised. Once a state joins the Union, it cannot leave without great upheaval.

But let’s assume that Texas could peacefully secede. In Civil War times, Southern states were ruled by vast plantations.  Poor whites who didn’t own slaves were at least free. The blacks were illiterate, controlled, almost docile.  However the days of mass slavery were over. The Confederacy ignored history and imploded.

Today the South assumes its rightful place in the American story. Texas itself is a powerhouse. As Northern states mimic European socialism, Texas acts as a magnet for tax refugees. Of course much has changed in Texas since 1845. Its largest cities hold huge black populations. Dallas and Houston have areas where no white man ventures.

These aren’t the slaves of 1861. They’re freedmen accustomed to good food, alcohol, pornography and guns. The Federal government provides many with welfare subsidies. Blacks vote Democrat across the board. Blacks offer natural opposition to the idea of Texas liberation.

Texas is also a minority/majority state. South Texas is essentially Mexican territory under American jurisdiction. In the west, El Paso is an affluent Juarez. Spanish-only signs are common. Since Ronald Reagan, Mexican nationals have spread into Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin. Lubbock, Midland and Amarillo also suffer. Latinos have overtaken traditionally black neighborhoods. Mexican children overwhelm the schools. And Latinos vote Democrat. Like the blacks, Hispanics are built-in loyalists.

Not only minorities muck up secessionist dreams. Every Texas metropolitan area is controlled by white liberals. The University of Texas in Austin is ruled by Marxist professors. Texas’ elite universities copy the Harvard playbook. They inflame the race wars and propagate the phony War on Women. School districts import the University of Chicago’s teaching standards. Almost every Texas museum, opera house, theater and stage is liberal territory. Obama is their man. He’s worshiped in city circles and they’d seemingly die for him.

When nations break apart, blood spills. The only true comparison to the United States is Rome. After its division in the third century, the Western Empire withered. The Eastern Empire flourished until Islam poisoned prosperity. Roman division was a fatal but natural separation brought on by decay. As the Mexican population explodes, shadows of Republic del Norte may take shape by the next century.

Demographic separation seems unavoidable; only God knows what lies ahead.  But those calling for immediate secession are foolhardy. The American Civil War proved no state goes peacefully.  And as in 1861, the North holds every advantage over Texas. Population, manufacturing ability, Wall Street….the Pentagon. Any fracturing of the United States would result in global catastrophe. The stability we provide Europe and Asia would crumble. China and Russia would tremble in fear. Texas’ black population would riot.

People calling for secession should reconsider. Ron Paul simply tossed red meat at his supporters. If the people demand an end to Ivy League tyranny, they must fight within in the system. Target the schools. The universities. Recapture the language. That’s our only option. Conservatives must demand a return to capitalistic values. The cause of liberty should easily overtake the venom of Marx. Until then, we’ll suffer Obama’s socialism until history chokes the life out of us all. We rise and fall together with our domestic enemies. Peaceful secession is a fool’s errand.

NASA’s MSL Curiosity and 2030 Manned Mission to Mars

My cousin’s friend (we’ll call her Lizaveta) works at the Johnson Space Center in Houston.  The same Houston denied a retired space shuttle after the program ended in 2011.  California, Florida, Washington, D.C. and New York were awarded retired shuttles, but not Mission Control in Texas.  Obama is indeed a petty little man.  Anyway, Lizaveta works in IT and spends her days trying to stay busy.  After Obama gutted the rocket program and moon base, NASA has nothing to do.  Nothing to look forward to.  The Kepler probe still shines but Obama may cut that as well. NASA and the armed forces are old targets of the Democrat’s national suicide.  Space is cold, treacherous and deadly.  It requires tremendous human courage to explore the cosmos.  Socialists possess none of these traits.

Lizaveta provides some degree of tech support for the Russian Soyuz capsule.  America abandoned the next generation of rocketry for an aging Russian work horse held together with tape.  I imagined Lizaveta sitting in a state-of-the-art facility.  The computers are top notch and the lights never fail.  Technology is expensive.  As she sits in air conditioned comfort, the American space program fell victim to the Great Society.  The irony is delicious:  the Johnson Space Center is named for President Johnson – the Great Society’s godfather.  NASA’s insolvency originated with his efforts to control the human spirit with government subsidies.

Over time, Lizaveta became a Russian charwoman and voted for her pending unemployment.  She’ll do so again this November.  All of NASA will line up to vote their own extinction on election day.  Today’s NASA sits on the backs of great men who cherished American exceptionalism.  Liberals scoff at such hogwash yet their dumbness comes at a steep price.  Even if Romney prevails and reinvigorates space exploration, the money just isn’t there.  Obama’s $5 trillion debt and healthcare debacle focuses man’s vision on earthly collapse, not heavenly salvation.

I’m by no means a space expert.  I simply understood that Americans built rockets, satellites and space shuttles better than anyone else.  The universe opened up for our Hubble telescope.  The ISS is our baby and epitomizes American ingenuity.  In the 1990′s, the Mars Rover was the size of a lawnmower.  Today’s version is the size of a car.   This latest rover, the MSL Curiosity, reaches Mars in August 2012 to begin a two year mission.  The August landing is a precursor for a manned mission to the red planet.  As of today, a manned mission to Mars is a fool’s dream.  After neutering NASA’s ambitions, President Obama established 2030 for the Mars launch.  It ain’t happening and he knows it.  NASA is a 100 carat diamond that he’s broken into powdery glass.

The car-sized MSL (Mars Science Laboratory) Curiosity will reach Mars in early August.  It launched in 2011 and weighs nearly two tons.  The estimated cost is $2.5 billion.  A Mars mission could easily top $1 trillion over ten years.  NASA’s current budget is $18.5 billion and more cuts are planned.  Hopefully, this will work itself out and we’ll land on Mars in 2030 as Obama promised.

Mankind is fortunate that both the United States and Russia share a passion for space that Obama lacks.  It’s all about hoops with Obama.  That’s it and nothing more.  Hoops and ESPN define the man.

CNN:  NASA Announces New Homes for Retiring Space Shuttles:

“The space shuttle Atlantis will be displayed at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Florida; the Endeavour, at the California Science Center in Los Angeles; the Discovery, at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Virginia; and the test shuttle, Enterprise, at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York, NASA Administrator Charles F. Bolden Jr. said during a ceremony at the Kennedy Center.”

 

The Johnson Space Center in Houston will display the shuttle mockup Serendipity.  It’s a national disgrace.  Texas led space travel for decades and is left with Columbia fragments as a reward.

Mitt Romney Booed at the NAACP Annual Convention

Mitt Romney’s speech at the NAACP invoked images of my stepbrother:  a black man lost, misguided and crashing to earth at breakneck speed.  Poor blacks are a permanent chapter of the American story.  The majority must be subsidized and this will never change.  Most whites understand the undying support blacks show for Obama.  Obama is half-black (full blacks never forget this), he’s a Democrat and he shoots hoops.  What they overlook is that he’s heartless.  Poor blacks are necessary evils in politics and Obama loathes them.  Mitt Romney would never say this aloud; he probably doesn’t realize it himself.  Romney’s black intuition is zero to none.

The masters of these poor blacks comprise the NAACP:  union members, Democratic operatives and university types.  Essentially they’re black plantation owners demanding tax payers fund their operations.  Healthcare and food stamps are a given…birth control and abortion should be Constitutional rights.  It’s an old story:  ethnic elites thriving off the misery of their lowers is ancient.  Last week these modern chieftains greeted Mitt Romney with boos.  They understand that white men must grovel in their presence.  Terrified of a slip-up or bad press, Romney never questioned their extortion.  The audience smelled white blood and pounced.  Another Republican cracker taken down in the name of tolerance.

A minuscule shift in black turnout for Republicans would spell electoral victory.  Had my brother not been hobbled by the welfare state, his life might have been productive.  We grew up separately and he was totally immersed in the black world.  The only white contact was my mother.  He grew accustomed to constant cries for welfare and other payouts.   Black leaders built his ghetto rat schools and graduated dropouts.  His neighborhoods were kept poor and bitter; most envied and resented whites.  Romney could seize this as a new issue.  As the boos died down, he should’ve shouted:  “The destruction of the black race stops today.  When elected president, the rape of the black community ends on my watch!”   Stunned silence would fill the auditorium.  A white man had called out the African chieftains.  Their slaves must be set free.

The destruction of Mitt Romney would then commence.  Good white liberals would enter battle mode and newspaper editors called to duty.  Network news rooms would buzz with racial injustice.    Liberals understand that Republicans are racial cowards; Romney’s brave new world could be easily crushed.  He’d beg forgiveness and make the morning show rounds.  He might even cry.  No doubt he’d cry.

Romney could never challenge NAACP orthodoxy so the point is moot.  As Massachusetts governor, he continued the tradition of Boston blacks stacked into ghettos, forever controlled by union Democrats.  Swaying blacks to Republican ideals was just too hard.  If public schools promised welfare and dependency, so be it.  Romney knew his place.  To be proactive would mean criticizing blacks in general.  The urban perpetrators of violent crime must be called out.  Aimless black males fathering untold children by multiple women could not continue.  Romney could never muster the courage.   Republicans equal the Klan and no counsel may be offered.

If I were Romney, lying in bed and obsessing over victory, I’d find it hard to accept that this voting block was unreachable.   Or that I could do nothing but watch their families and neighborhoods collapse.  For a cold fish like Romney, this fire could never burn in his belly.  The NAACP will have the last word.  But for someone playing to win, peeling off two percent of black voters is possible.  My stepbrother isn’t the only decent man destroyed by Democrats.  Millions of them exist.  If the white man carries the message of prosperity into their lives, enough would listen.  But it ain’t happening.

Romney hating life:

A good white liberal sits behind a man wearing a hat indoors.  The good white liberal isn’t a racist but everyone else is.

A poor black trying to make a buck:

The NAACP’s annual convention took place in Houston.  I’ve lived in Houston and have been to the Third Ward, Houston’s traditional black neighborhood.  Due to the NAACP’s and Democratic efforts, the Third Ward shows signs of revival in 2012.
