East-West Ministries, Compass Bank and Haunted Houses: Bankrupt Nation

East-West Ministries occupied this building for years. A street side conference room was regularly full, sometimes late at night, with those doing the Lord’s work. They may have discussed how to eliminate their tax burden. One day it was gone; the corporate office moved to Plano. In boom times, a new tenant would’ve leased this property almost immediately. But like Pizza Hut, companies are fleeing high cost areas to avoid leftist taxation. Now it’ll be empty for the next decade. An eternity if Obama is reelected.

This beautiful home occupies a prime corner in a liberal white neighborhood. It’s been vacant for years. Untold amounts of money is needed for repair and future maintenance. The super rich live in Highland Park, Dallas’ Beverly Hills. They’d never slum in this part of town. So the wannabes next door must tolerate an expensive eyesore.
