No one buys it

Election Day 2012

I early voted Friday at a Dallas community center. It was a mix of poor Democrats and wealthy liberals.  Several blacks, Hispanics and Asians circled the room. An aging white woman who supported McGovern asked for my ID.  Democrats only ID citizens.  Maybe .01% (including myself) supported the Republican ticket. No cell phones were allowed. I couldn’t take pictures of the electronic voting machine.

To simplify matters, I chose to vote straight party. The option is made available on the first screen. I selected Republican and reviewed the multi-page ballot. Several Texas judgeships went uncontested. They were held by Democrats with no Republican challenger.  After I pressed “Vote,” a warning flashed that my ballot was incomplete. Would I like to continue?

I studied my fellow voters and decided to wing it. But there shouldn’t have been a problem…”straight party” means “straight party.” I pressed Vote and hurried towards the exit. No Obama or Romney signs were posted outside. Only Gary Johnson who’s best known for advocating the legalization of marijuana.

I’m from New Mexico. Former Republican governor Gary Johnson is a liberal patron who lords over his dominion. New Mexico is ruled by liberal whites and La Raza Hispanics. Together they work tirelessly to keep the state poor and blue.  The working man doesn’t stand a chance; it’s either welfare or Santa Fe.  There’s little in between.  New Mexico is an Americanized version of the third world.  Obama supporter Hugo Chavez would feel at home.
